aight whats up, this is my first blog post. i despise proprietary stuff a lot, and i doesn't use that either.
windows, is a perfect example of proprietary software and corporate control, which i dont like. windows is like a digital prison, one on which the user is locked in, but "ohh no, it just works!"... it just "works", but the "updates" are no more than disguised unnecesary restarts to infuriate users and push them away to better, unintrusive alternatives. and let's talk about bloatware:
bloatware is unnecesary software that comes preinstalled with an operating system, and generally is hard to get rid of, thus slowing down your computer a lot.
bloatware on windows has reached a level in which the users have little to no control on which stuff comes in and out of the computer.
actually, what microsoft does is, they fool the users into spending money on a "new, better pc".
no. wake up people, you don't need a better computer. you don't need to spend a hunnid of dollars, you need a better operating system, free of the bloat, clutter and corporate nonsense. because there's a lot of perfectly capable computers in landfills just because of microsoft's obsolete politics, thus polluting our planet. let's talk about how restrictive proprietary software really is. you think you're in control? nah. you're just "renting" the software—except they made you pay for the damn rental. you don’t own it. you can't modify it, can't peek inside it, can’t even legally share it with your friends. and the license? oh god, the eula is like a digital leash. try reverse engineering it, try studying it, try making it better: BAM! legal threats. lawsuits. you're the criminal now, for wanting to understand the thing you bought. the software acts like it lives on their machine, not yours. sometimes they even remove features remotely, or just straight-up brick it with an "update". like, what even is that? and don’t even think of running it where they don’t want you to. want to install windows on an old computer with less than 4gb of ram? good luck. want to run it without an internet connection? get ready to be nagged to hell. want to disable telemetry? HA. that’s cute. meanwhile, free software literally says “here's the code. fix it, break it, remake it, do what you want.” and you can even run, say, artix, on less than 4gb ram just fine, just be sure to add some swap, and thats it. restrictive software says “you are not allowed to learn.” how tf does that sound like progress??
microsoft loves to change the user interface on every new version of microsoft windows, for example, starting with windows 8, they splitted the control panel and developed a separate "settings" app, like, please, i'd like a simpler ui for configuring stuff, like control panel was, that, a control panel, but, no, "settings" is "better"...
well, now we're gonna talk about something that puts me off every single damn time. like, microsoft don't have to try anything, we know that windows has TWO DAMN COMMAND INTERPRETERS....
one of them is cmd, based on an ancient operating system from 1981, at this point cmd is A WHOLE OPERATING SYSTEM ON ITS OWN SELF... and then there's powershell, the bash clone, or should i say, ripoff, like, whats "Get-Service"? damn, it's not 1981, it's the modern era!! im better knowing all the processes by a simple ps aux
. that's about it. there's nothing more to say about this "operating" system, if you dare to call that thing the damn word.
